Kitty's back Story (character belongs to ~NumberTheStars12 DO NOT USE WITH OUT HER PREMISSION!)
Kitty, born Katalina Mae Smith, grew up in a small fishing colony on a rather remote island that was closest neighbors with the planet Montresser in the Terran Empire, near the Lagoon Nebula.

Kitty’s family was lower class but happy. They had a house on the outside of town in the hills. Her mother was Libby Smith (Larson) and worked as a housewife; though she was capable of much more with a strong and muscular build and feministic attitude. She had blue eyes and blonde hair that was rather wavy and wispy. Kitty’s father, Joe Smith, had a dirtier blonde for his hair color and hazel eyes. He was a very large man- his head almost brushing the ceiling of their small home that consisted of the front room, kitchen, bathroom, and Kitty’s parent’s bedroom all on the first floor. The second was small and one room. Her mother did her sewing up there while it was also Kitty’s bedroom. She had easy access to the roof and loved climbing up there and then onto the tree that hung over the roof, easily reachable by her little paws.

Kitty herself had straight hair that she never cut. While her left eye was emerald green, her right one-if you split it in half- was navy blue that, at the pupil, switched to sky blue. She also had her father’s tannish fur. The family of Felinid lived quite happily.

At the age of 5 Kitty and her family found out that she had the ability to bend lightning. This was something that skipped generations in her father’s family. Her 80 year old grandmother traveled from the inner part of their small colony to give her some training. For the next two years Kitty was content with life. She became a very skilled bender thanks to her grandmother’s training. Just when her grandmother was going to show her a powerful move for an electrical bender, she died aged 82 after a heart attack. Things at home were depressing for awhile. Without her grandmother Kitty became rather distant at school and lost some of her friends. This didn’t help and she became obsorbed in her bending and her parents were her closest companions; especially her mother, who was constantly there when her father wasn’t. It took a year, but she finally returned to her old self, mostly. Life was normal again for another couple of years. Kitty got better at her bending and her mother and father were happy. They were healthy and her father even got a raise, allowing them to move into a better home.

Unfourtunetly, this was not to last. When she was 10 her small and remote island was attacked by a band of pirates. Kitty and her mother were unharmed in their home out of sight up in the hills, unfortunately Kitty’s father was attacked since he was fishing when the raid began. They did chase the pirates off, but Kitty’s father suffered an injury to his leg that left him bed ridden for three months and unable to work as a fisher any longer, stuck with a cane. They had to move back into their old house.

They fell into poverty. Kitty’s mother got a number of odd jobs to support them, Kitty herself taking a paper route but nothing else. Her parents wouldn’t let her. Her father did his best, but the pay he got from working the counter at a local shop. When she was twelve, Kitty was surprised with a small fishing boat- about the size of a horse cart. It needed a good amount of fixing and some paint wouldn’t hurt, but it was hers. She could use it for whatever she liked, so she chose adventure. She’d play imagenation games with her friends and sleep on it at night, staring at the stars. As she got older she’d do night guard posts for some extra money.

At age fifteen, Kitty looked out at the sky from her small fishing boat where she now spent most her time. She’d turned into a bit of a loner outside of her friends. She didn’t go out of her way to meet people or make friends. Slightly because she was depressed. Her father was now ill and confined to bed once more. She didn’t know what would happen to him. Her mother, as always, was hard at work to keep them afloat with the help of some of Kitty’s small wages. Kitty had become a bit of a loner again. She still had her friends and spent time with them, but now most her time was out in her boat, floating near the island and staring at the sky, or at the nebula, or at the almost non-existant speck in the distance that was planet Montresser, beyond that an even smaller, shining speck was the Crescentia Spaceport.

That night, realizing her restlessness, her want…her need for adventure outside of this suffocating island that she’d never left in her life, Kitty made a descion to go to Montresser. She flew her ship back to the small port she’d made the summer before and went inside, telling her parents what she wanted to do. She’d get a job and keep sending money, she assured. She wouldn’t get into too much trouble (she was rather mischievous). Her mother immediately objected on claims she was too young, but, to both their surprise, her father rose to his feet, came over and hugged her. He wasn’t supposed to be able to walk. He then drew from his pocket a small drawstring sack of coins and put them in her hand, telling her to go and live before she was to old and missed out on it all.

With tearful goodbyes, Kitty packed and set off that night in her small ship, reaching Montresser in a days time. On the planet, she noticed a flyer for scholarships to Intersteller Space Academy, one being in weaponry, which she rather enjoyed. Going out on a limb, she showed her skills before the administrators. Two days later she received a call at the inn she was staying at that she’d been accepted. She received her uniform soon after and started term, meeting a girl called Britt Walker, who almost immediately became her friend….
